What should I expect on my first visit?
Dr. Amber will review your health history and you will have the opportunity to share issues that brought you to physical therapy. We will discuss the orthopedic and pelvic floor examinations and you can ask questions. We will look at the entire body, including strength, flexibility, posture and motion. If an internal pelvic floor muscle assessment is appropriate for you, we will discuss it . We believe in a collaborative treatment model where you participate in your care.
What should i wear to my sessions
Something that is comfortable and easy to move in. During your sessions you will be performing different stretches and exercises too help improve your symptoms.
Do I need a prescription?
Illinois is a Direct Access state where you can see a physical therapist without a prescription. As part of Illinois direct access rules, we will notify your primary care provider that you are being seen as a patient. You should ask your insurance company if THEY require a prescription for reimbursement.
Can I use my Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) for physical therapy?
Absolutely! You can pay for services using your FSA/HSA spending card like any other credit card.

Do you treat men for pelvic floor issues?
Yes, at Moxie Pelvic Health and Wellness we treat men for a variety of pelvic floor issues including post prostate surgery, penile pain, incomplete emptying of bladder, constipation and erectile dysfunction.
